It was announced that from 27 May 2020, Sam FM will become Greatest Hits Radio in early September after Nation Broadcasting agreed a licensing agreement with Bauer Radio.

Has Sam FM changed name?
Bauers Bournemouth and Bristol stations Fire and Sam are rebranding to Hits Radio and taking the networks national breakfast show from September. The two stations rebrand on September 6th 2021.
Why does AM radio exist?
The decline in AM audio was due more to regulation than to method of modulation. One aspect of radio not understood by most listeners is the concept of occupied bandwidth, or the amount of spectrum that a station uses to transmit its signal. It displays signals within a specified range of frequencies.
